Romans 6:8-11: Considering ourselves in Christ
The philosopher George Berkeley, the psychologist Emile Coue, and Mary Baker Eddy all taught that thought alone determines reality, a useful foil for Paul’s very different claim in Romans 6:8-11. Considering ourselves dead to sin and alive to God is not wishful thinking but a settled reckoning grounded in what actually happened to us in Christ.
