Romans 6:5-6: Crucified with Christ
In parts of post-apartheid South Africa, older men would still call a white passer-by ‘Baas’ long after the old order had formally ended, an identity that lingered out of habit. That picture opens Romans 6:5-6: union with Christ means our old self was truly crucified, even though sin’s habits can be slow to catch up with the fact.
