Romans 6:5-6: Crucified with Christ
Nick recalls his years in South Africa, walking back roads and riding local taxis where older men still called him ‘Baas’ long after apartheid had formally ended, an old identity that lingered out of habit. He uses that picture to open Romans 6:5-6, showing how union with Christ means our old self was truly crucified even though sin’s habits can be slow to catch up with the fact.
