J.C. Ryle’s twelve-point definition of holiness, from his classic book of that name, corrects several wrong ideas on the way back to Romans 6:13b. Presenting ourselves to God is not a negative holiness of merely avoiding sin, nor a once-off decision, but an ongoing offering of the whole self to God.
