Philippians 2:19-30: The one who holds the rope, and the one who goes down in the pit
In the late 1700s, as the British empire pushed further into new territory, one image became a picture of Christian ministry: some are called to go down into the pit, into danger and sacrifice, while others hold the rope through prayer and support.
