DESCRIPTION:Topic: A Biblical Understanding of Suffering\nInstructor:  Andre Bay\nHosted by:  Shore Baptist Church\, Auckland \nGreat philosophers\, theologians\, doctors and every other person who ever lived on the face of the earth\, have either thought of\, discussed or experienced suffering in their lives. It comes to the wicked as well as the saint in Christ. We hope to look at this topic asking ourselves how we as believers can understand suffering and deal with suffering from a Biblical perspective. This should be beneficial in our own lives and also be helpful to those around us whom we love and want to care for. \nThe Roving Classroom is a yearly program involving four block-study sessions that are taught by various pastors within the fellowship (and on some occasions\, by invited guest speakers).The classroom is hosted at varied (and roving) geographical locations around New Zealand\, as each church offers to host a weekend. Each year the calendar will be ordered around the four traditional theological categories (Exegetical; Systematic; Historical; Practical Theology). Topics within these broader categories are both diverse and relevant\, allowing for a truly holistic ministerial training.

We will be looking at the defining marks of a church from Scripture and then begin to trace out how these have been pursued in the life of Baptist churches down through the centuries. SUMMARY:Stand for the Gospel 2018
DESCRIPTION:Stand for the Gospel is a weekend conference that was started in 2010 with a vision to serve the church in New Zealand\, across denominations around the unity of the Gospel. We celebrate its life transforming power and take up the call to proclaim it to all people\, calling all people to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. \nThe conference is purposely simple: \n\nWe host one keynote speaker from overseas who expounds the Scriptures challenging us with the Word of God.\nMen and women serving the church in New Zealand offer seminars on topics which unfold implications of the Gospel and applying them to our lives as believers and servants of Christ.\nWe provide an opportunity for a small number of ministries to have display tables where they can share their ministry aims with attendees throughout the weekend.\n\nConferences can be a drain on time and resources. They can also be a wonderful opportunity for fellowship and spiritual feeding. We pray Stand for the Gospel falls into the second category\, and hope that you’ll join us!

SUMMARY:School of Theology 2018
DESCRIPTION:This annual week of teaching and discussion is aimed at helping men who desire to be better equipped for service in their churches. It is a post-graduate level course which assumes familiarity with the Bible and Christian theology\, and it is an intensive week of study with up to 30 hours of teaching over the course of five days. \nWhile it is primarily intended for men who attend churches within the Fellowship of Reformed Baptist Churches in New Zealand\, others may attend at the discretion of our elders. Participants are expected to attend the entire School of Theology which begins with lunch on the Monday and concludes with dinner on the following Friday. \nLord willing\, the twelfth School of Theology will be held from 9th to 13th July 2018. The speaker and subject are yet to be confirmed.

Followed by breakfast at the Gregory’s house. \n\nBEWARE that this is the morning that Daylight Savings ends. You will need to put your clocks BACK one hour the previous night. Thankfully\, this will mean you get an extra hour of sleep that night.
