School of Theology 2016

School of Theology 2019

The Lord willing, our teacher will be Dr. Fred Malone. Returning for a third time Dr Malone will continue the second part of the two-part programme he began to teach in 2017 on The Pastoral Ministry. Dr Malone has served as pastor of First Baptist Church, Clinton, Louisiana, since 1993, having previously served eleven years as founding pastor of Heritage Baptist Church, Mansfield, Texas. He holds an M. Div. degree from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi (1974), and a Ph. D. degree in New Testament from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas (1989). He serves on the Founders Ministries Board is the Professor of Pastoral Theology at the IRBS Theological Seminary. Dr. Malone is the author of The Baptism of Disciples Alone as well as many articles. He is married to Deborah and has three adult children.

This annual week of teaching and discussion is aimed at helping men who desire to be better equipped for service in their churches. It is a post-graduate level course which assumes familiarity with the Bible and Christian theology, and it is an intensive week of study with up to 30 hours of teaching over the course of five days.

While it is primarily intended for men who attend churches within the Fellowship of Reformed Baptist Churches in New Zealand, others may attend at the discretion of our elders. Participants are expected to attend the entire School of Theology which begins with lunch on the Monday and concludes with dinner on the following Friday.
